Per Blackhawks analyst Rob Couch, two key members of the Chicago Blackhawks in Connor Bedard and Spencer Knight are playing themselves onto their Olympic teams with their strong starts.

The Chicago Blackhawks are off to a very strong start to the year under new head coach Jeff Blashill, once again renewing hope in the Windy City that the Blackhawks could potentially be putting themselves in position to get back to the playoffs.
The Blackhawks have not made the playoffs since 2020 when multiple franchise icons like Jonathan Toews, Patrick Kane, Brent Seabrook, Corey Crawford and Duncan Keith were still playing.
It's a new wave of young talent right now for the Blackhawks, with players like Connor Bedard, Frank Nazar and Spencer Knight leading the way.
Per Blackhawks analyst Rob Couch, both Bedard and goaltender Spencer Knight are playing themselves onto their respective Olympic teams.
Two of the most impressive players have been Connor Bedard and Spencer Knight. These are two core players playing very important roles on the team as the number one center and starting goalie. With the Olympics around the corner, both have played well enough to make the team.

Analytically, Knight is the best goalie in the NHL this season with the highest expected goals saved above expected with 12.88. He is 6-3-3 with a 2.46 GAA and .923 SV% to go along with one shutout behind a mainly young defensive group.

The Blackhawks are one of the surprise stories in the NHL right now, and Bedard and Knight are big reasons why.

Connor Bedard Wants To Play For Canada

Bedard was infamously snubbed from Canada's roster in the 4 Nations Faceoff, and he's said before that even though he was disappointed with the decision, he knows it was likely because of his slow start to last season.
The American goaltending situation is regarded as one of the best in Olympic competition, with names like Connor Hellebuyck, Jake Oettinger and Jeremy Swayman.
If Knight continues his strong start, he could be considered.
