A former Chicago Blackhawks forward will be out long-term after fracturing his foot, in a string of bad news announced by his new team.

Since Kirby Dach left the Chicago Blackhawks during the 2022 draft in a trade with the Montreal Canadiens, luck hasn't been on his side.
Indeed, he was injured several times, being limited to 58, 2, and 57 games in the last three seasons.
This season, expectations were high for Dach.
The Habs need a player to stand up and fill their second-line center role, and a lot of people hoped to see Dach in that role.
He played well recently, with a four-goal tally in three games earlier this month.
Unfortunately, the Canadiens announced bad news regarding the forward.

Canadiens Announce Long-Term Injury to Kirby Dach and Several Other Key Players

A few days ago, the Canadiens revealed that Kaiden Guhle and Alex Newhook would miss several months after getting surgeries:
Today, the organization announced that Dach would join them on the injured reserve.
Dach got injured by blocking a shot last night in a game against the Boston Bruins.
In a press release, the Habs announced Dach will miss four to six weeks with a fractured foot:
As reported in French by Habs reporter Anthony Martineau, losing both Dach and Newhook will hurt the team's offense and morale:
"Alex Newhook and Kirby Dach represent one-sixth of your entire goal production now lost to injury.

They're also two guys who, just a few days ago, were beaming in the locker room.

Kirby Dach told me:

«Alex and I have been through similar things. We're fully motivated to finally be able to contribute to the team's success.»"
The Canadiens also announced that they've called up Joshua Roy from the Laval Rocket to replace him:
It's another tough hit for the Canadiens and Dach. But at this point, no one can doubt his ability to return from tough injuries. He did it many times, and although it's bad that he must do it again, he will face the adversity and return stronger.
