Former Chicago Blackhawks forward Vinnie Hinostroza has been sidelined with an injury and will be out of the Minnesota Wild lineup for the foreseeable future.
While it's not welcome news that Vinnie Hinostroza has decided to play for the Chicago Blackhawks' rivals, the Minnesota Wild, there is more sad news to report.
According to Michael Russo of The Athletic, who covers the Central Division rivals of the Blackhawks, Hinostroza will be sidelined long-term as he deals with an undisclosed injury.
Hinostroza is dealing with a serious injury, and Wild head coach John Hynes shared that the former Blackhawk is going to be out for "a while."
Bad news for the former Blackhawks forward, who was originally a 6th-round pick in the 2012 NHL Draft.
Hinostroza played for the Wild in 2024-25, suiting up for 25 games and scoring 8 points (5-3). Before his injury this season, he suited up for the Wild as a depth forward, playing 22 games, scoring 5 points (2-3), and adding 20 hits to his stat bucket.

Since then, he's been a great depth option for the team, who has experienced a rollercoaster of emotions with the retirement of Marc-Andre Fleury.
Hinostroza was injured during the Nov. 21st game against the Pittsburgh Penguins, where he'd play a total of 8:08 minutes that night, playing only nine shifts.
The veteran forward has played a total of 434 games in the NHL and scored 166 points (61-105) and 117 penalty minutes.
The last time we saw Hinostroza anywhere near a Blackhawks facility was in September 2024, when he returned to the ice at the Blackhawks' practice spot.
