Even though they lost 9-3 to the Buffalo Sabres Friday in Buffalo, the Chicago Blackhawks have a new franchise record holder for youngest player with 100 assists.

Nothing went right for the Chicago Blackhawks tonight against the Buffalo Sabres, who beat them 9-3 for one of their most lopsided losses in recent memory, and it was their second straight defeat after losing to the Seattle Kraken earlier in the week.
But there was one positive aspect of the Blackhawks' loss thanks to another accomplishment for Connor Bedard, the face of the franchise who was taken with the 1st overall pick in the 2023 NHL Entry Draft.
Bedard had an assist during the loss, which was the 100th assist of his NHL career. He also becomes the fastest Blackhawks player to get 100 assists at 20 years and 147 days old.
So far this year, Bedard has 29 points (13G, 16A) in the third and last year of his current deal.

The Sabres Beat The Blackhawks 9-3 Tonight In Buffalo In A Lopsided Chicago Loss

At least six different players had two points for the Sabres in their win over the Blackhawks, 9-3, in Buffalo.
Alex Tuch had four assists, and Jason Zucker scored in his return to the ice after having missed eight games with an illness.
Tyler Bertuzzi scored twice for the Blackhawks, who also got two assists each from Bedard and Sam Rinzel.
The Blackhawks have now lost twice in a row after they lost 3-2 to the Seattle Kraken earlier this week at home at the United Center in Chicago.
Their loss to the Kraken broke what was a six-game point streak.
