The Chicago Blackhawks are off to an impressive start this year, and per a new trade proposal from analyst Nick Alberga, acquiring a top prospect from the Toronto Maple Leafs could put them over the top.

The Chicago Blackhawks have impressed during their first quarter of the year, winning 10 games and finding themselves in fourth place in the NHL's Centra Division.
They've already made a trade this year, trading Lukas Reichel to the Vancouver Canucks for a fourth round pick in the 2027 NHL Entry Draft. But are they considering bringing in a top young prospect from an Original 6 foe?
Per Nick Alberga, the Toronto Maple Leafs could potentially offer top prospect Easton Cowan if it meant that the Leafs could get Sam Rinzel or Artem Levshunov back in return.
Personally, I want Rinzel or Levshunov out of Chicago. And, I would dangle Cowan for that, too. Would like to clarify on word choice. I realize it would cost Cowan+ to acquire one of those two

The Blackhawks already have a few players of their own in trade rumours.

Easton Cowan Is A Top Prospect With The Toronto Maple Leafs

Per his 709773 on Elite Prospects, his top assets are his skating and stick handling abilities:
Easton Cowan is a highly intelligent and creative forward. He creates opportunities by outspeeding and outdangling the opposition. Cowan's hockey sense matches the quickness in his feet, he's able to link passing plays in transition, manipulate defensive gaps with clever movements and feints, and find pockets of space in the slot.

Cowan, who was taken with the 28th overall pick by the Maple Leafs in the 2023 NHL Entry Draft, had five points (1G, 4A) in 13 games with the Leafs.
