Chicago Blackhawks Prospect Mason West Accomplishes A New Level In His Football Career
The Chicago Blackhawks prospect had his play tracked by MaxPreps, and the star QB completed 106 of 121 passes for 1,273 yards this season, with 12 touchdowns and just one interception.
West threw the ball to running back Chase Bjorgard, which helped for a touchdown, giving Edina a chance to catch up after falling behind 15-7.
According to the DailyFaceOff's Steven Ellis, West was ranked as the 51st best prospect available in 2025's draft.
«He's a 6-foot-6 center who loves to overpower defenders and beat opponents with skill,» Ellis wrote. «He spent most of the year playing high school hockey but then finished the season with some excellent performances with the USHL's Fargo Force. Every time I watch him, he finds a way to get better. The upside is tremendous, and he doesn't struggle with traits that some other big forwards can, including slower hands and feet.»
West's hockey performance cannot go without recognition. Playing in junior hockey for the Fargo Force of the USHL, he played 10 games and scored 9 points (1-8).
Playing hockey for Edina High, he scored 49 points (27-22) in 31 games in 2024-25.
The future is looking bright for both the Blackhawks and West, who are poised for greater things.
