Chicago Blackhawks prospect Mason West, who is currently a high school quarterback, helped Edina High School in Minnesota win in the Minnesota State Championship semifinal game.
Chicago Blackhawks prospect Mason West is a man of many talents, as not only does he excel at hockey but also at football.
He's currently playing quarterback for Edina High School in Minnesota, where he helped bring them to a win in the semifinal game of the Minnesota State Championship game.
"My dad is from Chicago. He brought the Blackhawks era into our household along with the Bulls and Cubs. It's kinda cool. I have family down in Chicago. So it's all kinda worked out."
He did commit to playing his senior year at Edina High School, saying he'd feel incomplete if he didn't help lead them to a state championship but also reaffirming that his future is on the ice.
"It was tough because I want to win. So if we don't win the state championship, I don't look at it as a failure, but I look at it as something that they can do next year.
"Done that in hockey but not in football. So I want to achieve my goals and stay loyal to my teammates. I think they really need me in order to win. So I'll be there for them.
Last year, he had nine points (1G, 8A) for the Fargo Force in the USHL.
