Chicago Blackhawks fans continued to call for analyst Caley Chelios' job after her words on Connor Bedard's issues with the referees when he wasn't given a penalty shot against the Seattle Kraken.
During the Chicago Blackhawks' 3-2 loss to the Seattle Kraken earlier in the week, there was an incident in the game in which Connor Bedard had a partial breakaway but wasn't given a penalty shot.
He complained to the referees, only to be given an unsportsmanlike penalty for which he apologized for later.
Analyst Caley Chelios drew the ire of some fans with what she had to say about the incident:
I have to give it to Seattle and it will be a learning lesson for Bedard.
That upset one Blackhawks fan to the point he doubled down on calling for her to be removed from the broadcasts.
I stand by what I said last night.
You are on a Chicago broadcast, going live when the entire city is fuming over two terrible no-calls (Burakovsky getting decapitated and Bedard breakaway).
You don't immediately start glazing how good the Kraken were and how Bedard needs to "grow-up"......Know the game or know your audience.
Connor Bedard Apologized For His Unsportsmanlike Penalty
Even though Bedard felt he had a strong case to be upset after not getting awarded a penalty shot, he said he needed to do a better job of keeping his emotions in check.
But in the end, we're professionals. I've got to have a better response there when that doesn't go my way. Just learn from it and don't let it happen again.
Bedard recently had the "A" for assistant captain put on his sweater, meaning the Blackhawks are more comfortable with him taking on a larger leadership role.
