The Chicago Blackhawks offered a promising performance on Sunday against the hottest team in the NHL: the Colorado Avalanche.

The Chicago Blackhawks are one of the biggest surprises of the season so far in the NHL, despite losing their last three games, which included a blowout loss to the Buffalo Sabres.
Indeed, they have a 10-8-4 record, but on the ice, they're showing that they are on the verge of breaking out.
Last night, they fell 1-0 to the Colorado Avalanche, but offered a great performance that could've made the game go either way.

Hawks Show Massive Growth In 1-0 Loss To Hottest Team In The League Right Now

The Avalanche are currently at the top of the whole NHL, with 37 points in 22 games and a 16-1-5 record.
They won their last nine straight games, and the one against the Blackhawks was one of the most tightly disputed in their streak.
Jason Dickinson revealed that the team is happy with the way things are going, but not satisfied with the results, in the post-game press conference:
"We can be both happy with the process, not satisfied with the result. Would love for us to get the win, even scrap out a point. A divisional matchup like that, everything matters. It sucks, but for the most part, [there's] a lot of good clips that we can go back and watch it didn't feel like we gave up a whole lot, especially in the first and third."

The Hawks head coach Jeff Blashill also shared his thoughts on his team's efforts:
"I think if we repeat that performance, we're winning lots of games. The other team is going to push back, that's just the reality of life. But if you look at where we were to start the game, I thought we did an excellent job in our structure, an excellent job of some of the things we talked about this morning that we didn't do in Buffalo.

We had real, real chances in the first, I think the better of the chances in the comparisons between the two periods, and didn't score We just have to stay with it."

The Hawks will be back in action Wednesday against the Minnesota Wild, another hot team who's on a five-game winning streak.
