The Chicago Blackhawks can't call up forward Nick Lardis from the AHL affiliate Rockford IceHogs after he is still feeling the effects of a heavy hit he took.
The Chicago Blackhawks are still shorthanded, playing without forward Jason Dickinson even though Frank Nazar was able to come back after missing a handful of games.
They wanted to call up forward Nick Lardis from the AHL affiliate Rockford IceHogs, but those plans were put on hold.
Per analyst Greg Boysen, the Blackhawks can't call up Lardis because he's still feeling the effects of a heavy hit he took last night.
"Nick Lardis is not getting called up. Woke up sore after a hit into the boards last night. X-rays were negative, but they are playing it safe with him."
So far this year with the IceHogs, Lardis has 14 points (5G, 9A) in 15 games, making him an ideal candidate to be called up when he's healthy if need be.
Nick Lardis Can't Be Called Up To The Blackhawks Because Of Injury
Lardis, who was taken with the 67th overall pick by the Blackhawks in the 2023 NHL Entry Draft, is still feeling the effects of a heavy hit he took while playing with the IceHogs.
During his OHL career before being taken by the Blackhawks, Lardis played for the Peterborough Petes, Hamilton Bulldogs, and Brantford Bulldogs.
