Chicago Blackhawks may be forced to recall multiple from AHL's Rockford IceHogs Saturday

The Chicago Blackhawks' future is uncertain, as today they have a decision to make.

Whether or not to call up players from the Rockford IceHogs.

Of course, that all depends on the status of three players today , who are all game-time decisions for the team

The three players mentioned? Jason Dickinson, Tyler Bertuzzi, and Frank Nazar.

Nazar has missed the last two Blackhawks games, dealing with an abdominal injury. He exited practice early due to discomfort, although Head Coach Jeff Blashill said the exit was planned ahead of time.

In 15 games for the Blackhawks this season, he's scored 11 points (5-6) and is playing an average of 18:46 time on ice per night. Last season, the 21-year-old rookie played 53 games and scored 26 points (12-14).

Bertuzzi is considered "just a little banged up" by Blashill and could be the result of a monstrous hit by Brendan Dillon of the New Jersey Devils. He absorbed the hit during the team's 4-3 OT win over Sheldon Keefe's team.

Bertuzzi's start of 2025-26 was strong, scoring 15 points (9-6) in 16 games for the Blackhawks. He's in his 2nd-year of his $22 million contract signed with the Blackhawks in 2024.

While Jason Dickinson, 30, has missed six games dealing with a shoulder injury suffered on October 30th against the Winnipeg Jets. The former 20-goal scorer has scored 3 points (1-2) in eight games and was acquired in a trade from the Vancouver Canucks during the 2022-23 season.

Dickinson was re-signed by the Blackhawks in 2024 and will become a UFA at the end of 2025-26.

The Blackhawks will have until game time to make a decision or recall players from Rockford beforehand.
