The Centennial Season festivities continue for the Chicago Blackhawks, who will have a special guest on Saturday and will have a special pregame exhibit to celebrate the Original Six teams.
The Toronto Maple Leafs will head to the United Center on Saturday night for an exciting matchup. This will be a game between two storied franchises.
The Chicago Blackhawks Debut "The Originals Night"
The storyline you think would be about Auston Matthews and Connor Bedard (it is), but it's not the focal point here.
"The Chicago Blackhawks will host the Toronto Maple Leafs on Saturday, Nov. 15, matching up against a fellow Original Six franchise to celebrate «The Originals» chapter of the team's season-long Centennial celebration."
At 3:30 P.M., you will want to make sure you're at the United Center to catch the pregame exhibit:
"Inside the Atrium, fans will get the chance to check out three Originals exhibits, which will include a display of Bobby Hull's and Stan Mikita's curved sticks, an assortment of Tony Esposito's game-worn gear, and Mikita's trophies won during his legendary Blackhawks career, in addition to interactive activities and photo opportunities."
While the main event takes place two hours later, as fans are encouraged to be in their seats:
"Fans are encouraged to be in their seats by 5:30 p.m. to catch the special Originals pregame ceremony, which will begin just after warmups ahead of the 6 p.m. puck drop. The ceremony, emceed by former Blackhawks broadcaster Pat Foley, will celebrate the hockey innovation that has taken place throughout Blackhawks history, with other ceremony participants to include relatives of the original players that shaped the sport and two more special alumni guests."
The game between the Blackhawks and Maple Leafs should already excite you with the dearth of talent on the ice that night.
But to witness history in person should be something every Blackhawks fan who visits the United Center makes a point to stop in and see.
The Blackhawks' Centennial season has been successful with a record of 8-5-4, and 3rd in the Central Division.
