"The best city in the league" Connor Bedard proves loyalty for the Blackhawks with latest message LIVE on air

There will be plenty made about the fact that Chicago Blackhawks forward Connor Bedard is playing in the last year of his current contract and that things don't appear to be on the fast track for an extension any time soon.

But based on his latest words about how he feels wearing a Blackhawks sweater and representing Chicago, fans can put their worries away.

Bedard said during a recent interview with TSN analysts that Chicago is the league's top city.

Bedard can prove his loyalty to Chicago by signing a more team-friendly deal that not only allows him to get a major increase on his current pay but that also allows the Blackhawks to be able to afford talent around him under the salary cap.

So far this year, Bedard is already on pace to easily move past his previous career bests in goals and assists.

Right now, Bedard has 26 points (10G, 16A) in just 17 games played, a pace of 48G and 77A if he can maintain it.

It's also worth noting that as Bedard's production increases into true star territory, the chances of him requesting more money in his next deal will continue to rise.

For now, Blackhawks fans are trying to enjoy the ride and hope that Bedard and the Blackhawks are able to soon hammer out a long-term agreement.
