Former Chicago Blackhawks forward Vinnie Hinestroza will not get the chance to play against his old team at United Center when the two teams play each other on the eve of the American Thanksgiving holiday on Wednesday.
Hinestroza was injured during his team's recent 5-0 win over the Pittsburgh Penguins after he ran into Penguins forward Ryan Graves and went down hard. He got to his feet slowly, visibly in plenty of pain, went to the bench gingerly and did not return for the rest of the game.
Wild head coach John Hynes has since confirmed that Hinestroza's injury is more serious than the team initially was thinking, and he won't be able to play for some time now.
