The Chicago Blackhawks retired famed defenseman Chris Chelios number #7 in the rafters of the United Center on Februrary 25th, 2025, who could join him next?

The Chicago Blackhawks fans on February 25th, 2024, were in for a treat as Patrick Kane returned to the United Center that night with the Detroit Red Wings, but Chris Chelios was being honored that night as well.
His jersey retirement sent #7 to the rafters in the United Center, in a ceremony that was befitting of a legendary defenseman such as Chelios.

And we ponder who could join Chelio and Marian Hossa (whose number was retired in 2022) in the rafters next?

Brent Seabrook

Brent Seabrook was drafted 14th overall by the Chicago Blackhawks. He was fortunate during his entire 15-year career with the team never to have been traded (at least until after he retired).
The only uniform he ever wore was the Blackhawk. He skated in 1,114 games with the team right behind Stan Mikita, and Duncan Keith. They'd be a dynamic duo for the Blackhawks, proving a solid foundation of defense for the team to benefit from.
He's another member of the Blackhawks dynasty from the 2010s who deserves to have his number retired after Marian Hossa.
He has three Stanley Cups to his name and has continued his career in the game of hockey in other avenues.
While Chelios' #7 has already been retired, a number he and Seabrook shared, Seabrook is deserving of a ceremony at least to celebrate his extraordinary career with the Blackhawks.
Seabrook formally retired from the NHL in January of 2021, and was part of a trade that gave the Blackhawks some major talent in the NHL draft, as his salary was sent to the Tampa Bay Lightning.
So, the Cliff Notes: we can track back almost four years to the Seabrook trade with Tampa thru five subsequent trades to land at three of the top current Blackhawks prospects: Oliver Moore, Sacha Boisvert and Marek Vanacker.

Brent Seabrook has done a lot for the Blackhawks organization and should be honored for it.
