He found his way back to Chicago, as we saw a picture of him online enjoying Lincoln Park in Chicago.

Could this be a sign he won't be going forward with a new deal in Detroit with GM Steve Yzerman?

Kane sold his former condo in Trump Tower at a loss of nearly a million dollars, in March for $2.11 million.

The postseason hasn't been kind to the Detroit Red Wings, as drama has been an ongoing issue between Dylan Larkin and GM Steve Yzerman.

Larkin believes that GM Steve Yzerman hasn't done enough to make the team competitive to make it to the postseason. While Yzerman himself feels that Larkin hasn't done his job as Captain of the Red Wings to push them further.

Either way, the stench of the drama is enough to drive anyone away.

He could certainly afford to find a new home, considering the conflagration of wills between the two strong personalities in Detroit.

Maybe a return to Chicago and the United Center is in order? Given that Kyle Davidson didn't want the old leadership to permeate through the room while a new core was being born, we're way past this excuse at this point.

It might be worthwhile to explore, as he's been humble enough to take a budget contract for someone like the Detroit Red Wings, where he's made $4 million AAV this season.
