The latest report has revealed that the Chicago Blackhawks will be trading a veteran goaltender who is set to take on a conditioning stint in the AHL.

A report has surfaced that Chicago Blackhawks goaltender Laurent Brossoit has begun practicing again.

While he hasn't begun his conditioning stint in the AHL yet, this presents an issue for GM Kyle Davidson and the team:

The Chicago Blackhawks have a full complement of goaltenders in both the NHL and the AHL, with Spencer Knight and Arvid Soderblom maintaining the crease in the NHL.

Knight leads the team with a .924 save percentage, which leaves Brossoit out of consideration for a spot in the NHL.

What are the next steps for Brossoit, who is finally healthy after undergoing multiple surgeries and missing a full season of hockey in 2024-25?

It's appearing as though it'll be a trade out of Chicago, and we have some inside info on where Brossoit could be traded to.

There's been a trade proposal by Heavy.com, which gives us an idea of what the Blackhawks could receive in exchange for the Stanley Cup Champion goaltender.

Oilers acquire:
-Laurent Brossoit ($1.65 million retained)
2026 seventh-round pick

Blackhawks acquire:
-Connor Ungar
2028 third-round pick

Brossoit's name has been surfacing and making the rounds in several intriguing reports as of late.

In truth, it seems an underwhelming return for Brossoit, but the last time he's seen NHL ice was during the 2023-24 season, in which he played 23 games, had a 2.00 GAA (goals against average), and had a .927 save percentage.

The Blackhawks could save money on cap space by trading Brossoit, who has missed significant time in Chicago since he arrived.
