Team Canada's GM Doug Armstrong commented on the likelihood of Connor Bedard making the 2026 Olympic roster.

Center Connor Bedard of the Chicago Blackhawks seems like he should be a shoo-in for the Canadian Olympic team in 2026.
He's been producing like an elite-level forward in the NHL this season, scoring 31 points (13-18) in 22 games this year.
After developing a strong 200-foot game and improving his skating, it appears he's poised to take the next step.
After winning the Calder Trophy his first year in the league (2023-24), Bedard should easily make the roster, as an insider recently stated himself.
There was speculation that he hadn't played enough games in the NHL or competed in enough big games (playoffs) to make him a true candidate.
He and 42 other players were named to Team Canada's training camp roster in August.
But GM Doug Armstrong of Team Canada has issued a statement that makes us think that maybe his Olympic dreams are still a reality.

Could Connor Bedard make Team Canada's 2026 Olympic Roster?

Not only is Connor Bedard due a handsome contract extension from the Chicago Blackhawks, but he's also been officially considered for Team Canada's roster.
As someone who has won a Calder Trophy and scored 159 points (58-101) in 172 games with the Blackhawks, he's earned an honest look from GM Doug Armstrong.
TSN's Frankie Corrado on Bedard's chances at making the roster:
[Bedard] is the hottest player in the NHL. His game has evolved; it's not like he's just on a heater. He's much better. He looks like a guy that can play up and down your lineup. I think if he's not on the team, it'll come down to the fact that they couldn't find a defined role for him. But it also tells me that there's nothing he could've done to make this team.»

Doug Armstrong should take note of Bedard's effort this season. Under Jeff Blashill, he's found himself playing at new heights in the best hockey league in the world.
