Gavin Hayes, a prospect for the Chicago Blackhawks has unexpectedly endured a massive hit, leading him to be out for 8-12 weeks.

Gavin Hayes is a promising prospect for the Chicago Blackhawks organization.
He is widely known for his offensive strength and goal-scoring abilities.
Hayes was selected in the third round (66th overall), of the NHL Draft in 2022 and has shown he's steadily developing to become a key factor for the Hawks rebuilding process as they continue to rebuild their roster.
Gavin Hayes (#92) hasn't looked out of place on the #IceHogs first line tonight. He's using his size to his advantage and has made a few plays.
It has been revealed that this future star has been severely injured with a sprained shoulder and has an expected recovery for the next 8-12 weeks.
This is bad news for Chicago! With their intention to rebuild and make a comeback this season and seasons to come, Gavin is an asset to make these aspirations come to life.
As the 2025 NHL season has already hit the halfway mark, 8-12 weeks is a lot for a young prospect like Hayes to make a comeback from.
With several physio sessions needed, the Blackhawks organization must be careful in handling the health of their 20-year old prospect, and consider potentially sidelining him for the rest of the 2024-25 season.
Hayes is considered to have potential as high as a top six role within the Blackhawks organization, seeing him alongside notable names such as Frank Nazar, Colton Dach, Connor Bedard, Oliver Moore and others, in the near future.
