As Connor Bedard settles into his new role as the budding superstar of the NHL and the future face of the league, he is quickly learning how to handle the media, especially the Chicago media.

The North Vancouver native, chosen first overall by the Blackhawks on May 8th, has had a whirlwind summer and has showcased his skills early on in the preseason.
During a media scrum at the end of the Blues-Blackhawks game, Bedard discussed not leaving the ice when the coaches asked him to. He delivered a witty remark that elicited laughter from the entire media scrum.
His professionalism and humility are quite remarkable, considering he's only 18 years old and has been thrust into the limelight by the Blackhawks, especially since they are in a rebuilding phase. He also mentioned that he could further improve his game during the match.
Despite acknowledging the need for improvement, he put on a show tonight with two assists, one of which was the game-winning assist in overtime against the Blues.
The United Center witnessed a win, although it may not hold significance in the standings. Nevertheless, it certainly provides Blackhawks fans with a sneak preview of what's to come as the team continues to rebuild.
