The Chicago Blackhawks will announce Connor Bedard as the franchises 37th captain

In the midst of a long summer ahead, several areas will have to be addressed regarding the future: what can Kyle Davidson do to bring the team back to it's winning ways? How much longer will this rebuild take? Who is the future face of the organization?

In regards to the future face of this Original Six Organization, Nick Foligno currently holds the reins with the captaincy 'C' on his chest... for now that is.

37-year old Nick Foligno only has a few more NHL seasons, 'if' a few, underneath his belt before retiring.

Who will take over after Foligno?

There is only one logical answer in this scenario and current state of the Blackhawks, and it's phenom Connor Bedard.

The 19-year old former first overall pick is much like Connor McDavid and Auston Matthews, who were both named captain very early on after their arrival into the NHL. He has also served as the youngest captain in franchise history before being drafted to Chicago, during his WHL days with the Regina Pats.

A few other faces could be candidates for the captaincy, such as Ryan Donato or Tyler Bertuzzi, both do not have a guaranteed future with the organization due to the upcoming youth-movement being in full affect, as well as Tyler Bertuzzi's lack of production.

The Blackhawks and Kyle Davidson also must be taking every advantage in their power to ensure Connor Bedard remains with the organization long-term, and planting the C on his chest could certainly provide insurance.

It is not a matter of if, but when Connor Bedard will be named the 37th captain of the Chicago Blackhawks franchise.
