GM Kyle Davidson and the Chicago Blackhawks have found their new starting goalie, in Stanislav Berezhnoy, of the KHL's SKA St. Petersburg.

It was announced today by the Chicago Blackhawks on "X" that they have signed a new goalie, Stanislav Berezhnoy.
Berezhnoy played in the KHL with the SKA St. Petersburg and has signed his two-year ELC with the Chicago Blackhawks.
He'll start the 2025-26 season in the AHL with the Rockford IceHogs, sharing the crease with Drew Commesso.
His new contract pays him an AAV of $975K over the next two seasons, where we could see him as part of the youth movement gain traction and maybe even make a few starts in the NHL.
The 22-year-old goalie is towering at 6-foot-4, 218 pounds, and with his sizable frame has drawn comparisons to Tampa Bay Lightning goalie Andrei Vasilevskiy.
We'll find out how comparable his game truly is in an AHL setting, as he's being thrown into the crease in the AHL with the IceHogs. When he takes on the Chicago Wolves, he will truly be thrown to the wolves in a test of his capabilities next year.
Berezhnoy last played in the VHL with SKA-Neva St. Petersburg, with a record of 6-3-1, 2.49 GAA, and a .913 save percentage.
He'd star in 14 games in the VHL earlier in the year, playing for Omsk Krylia with a record of 6-7-1, 2.51, and a .926 save percentage. His one-game appearance in the KHL came with a 7.14 GAA and .818 save percentage.
He may need to spend some time with goalie coach Jimmy Waite, like Arvid Soderblom did in the past season, to hone the finer points of his game until he's NHL-ready.
For now, it appears the Blackhawks see a long-term solution in Berezhnoy; it'll be his job to prove them right.
