The Chicago Blackhawks will have another shot at selecting a top prospect (like Connor Bedard in 2023) on Monday, May 5th, when the NHL Draft Lottery takes place.
The Chicago Blackhawks could win another draft lottery, should the odds come out in their favor.
The team itself has a 13.5% chance of winning the draft lottery, only two years after winning it before.
Chicago has a 13.5% chance of picking first, a 14.1% chance of picking second, a 30.7% chance of picking third, and a 41.7% chance of picking fourth. They can pick no lower than that.
The NHL will conduct the draft lottery at 6 PM CT, and unlike any year prior, the event will be held live. A surefire way to increase the excitement of what could be the Matthew Schaefer, or Michael Misa sweepstakes.
This year, fans will be privy to the results, at the same time as NHL executives, which should keep Blackhawks fans on the edge of their seats.
In 2024, the Blackhawks weren't so fortunate, but would end up selecting Belarusian defenseman Artyom Levshunov 2nd overall in Las Vegas.
Now, with the second-best odds in the league, we should cross our fingers and hope we can lap the dumpster-diving, San Jose Sharks for the 1st OA pick in 2025.
After the result of the lottery, Blackhawks fans should expect a media presser, where Kyle Davidson will address fans and give them some insight on his plans with the 2025 draft.
The 2025 NHL Draft is set to take place in Los Angeles' Peacock Theater on June 27th and 28th.
