Windy City has been struggling to stay above water this season, especially following the 2025 Trade Deadline, and an NHL insider recently reported a Blackhawk is suggested give up on his organization and depart from Chicago this off-season.

Ryan Donato is suggested to leave Chicago this summer

Before and during this past trade deadline, there were many rumours and speculations regarding the Chicago Blackhawks desperately in search to trade their key-forward, Ryan Donato, however, as the day went on, Donato's name was never mentioned and the 28-year old somehow remained in Chicago.
That being said, many have noted the impeccable gameplay Donato has portrayed this season, and it has seemingly worked in his favour as a reporter from The Athletic has revealed the Chicago Blackhawks are not only looking to re-sign Donato, but they are willing to cough over a sweet deal to keep this contender.

Chicago Blackhawks offer Ryan Donato impressive three-year extension but seems to of been denied

This two-way forward is enjoying a career-best performance with 24 goals and 53 points in just 69 games and a reporter, Scott Powers, subsequently reported that Donato received an offer which is believed to be a three-year extension worth an average annual value of $4 million.
However, since the release of his offered contract extension, it sounds as though these contract discussions have been exempt, leaving speculation that his 28-year old denied the offer, and may be looking to see what other organization's can offer him this off-season.
Although the Blackhawks are currently interested in extending Donato's contract, the forward's longevity in Chicago would still be uncertain, as the organization doesn't want to be tied down to any veteran for too long, and for the sake of this player, he would not receive the stability he is seeking if he accepted this deal.
Donato is currently finishing a two-year contract with an AAV of $2 million, meaning this offer would leave him doubling his salary, however his performance this season could draw plenty of interest in the free-agency market and leave him with more opportunity to excel and even possibly receive a better offer.
This being said, the franchise still continues to be silent regarding whether or not Donato is will to take the deal, leaving many to believe this forward is leaving Chicago this summer.
