Chicago Blackhawks Head Coach Jeff Blashill took questions today during a conference with Kyle Davidson, and explicitly revealed his plans for superstar Connor Bedard.

Jeff Blashill is no stranger to developing talent in the AHL. He's won a Calder Cup with the Grand Rapids Griffins and oversaw Tyler Bertuzzi's development in Detroit.
It's purely coincidental, but now Bertuzzi, a teammate of Bedard for a second season, will have something in common, a head coach. While we're not 100% sure he's the coach to push them out of the rebuild, it's apparent he's been brought in to turn prospects into NHLers.
Given that Bedard still has a ways to go before he reaches his prime, he's already on his third head coach in the NHL.
A troubling development for the Blackhawks, considering how fragile some NHLers' careers can be.
With a Calder Trophy to his name and two 60+ seasons under his belt, Blashill wants to continue to give Bedard the abilities to grow into the player he should be.
Blashill emphasizes working on Connor Bedard's strengths. He mentioned his passing, shooting, and his drive to be better. He has zero doubts about his abilities, and it seems it will be his goal to construct the offense around him.
With Blashill namedropping Nikita Kucherov and Brayden Point, he feels that maybe Bedard will be in a class with him once he's done growing as a player?
Blashill felt that Bedard will have to continue to work on finding separation between himself and defenders on the ice, while tightening his short shifts, and making better changes before heading to the bench.
As an assistant under Jon Cooper in Tampa Bay, we hope he'll use his wisdom learned during his last three-years to benefit the Blackhawks organization and Bedard.
