Defenseman Travis Dermott, who has only played in 80 total games in the last three years, is back skating again and hopes to attract an NHL team enough to sign him to a deal.
Defenseman Travis Dermott has been hampered by injuries in recent years but is now healthy and has begun skating in Ontario in hopes of doing enough to convince an NHL team to sign him.
Per NHL analyst Elliotte Friedman, Dermott has begun skating in Ontario and hopes to resume his NHL career.
"Travis Dermott - who has played 348 NHL games - had left shoulder surgery to correct some recurring problems on July 23
Now healthy, he is training and skating in Mississauga, looking for a landing spot to resume his career.
He could be a valuable option for the Chicago Blackhawks to consider as a depth move, as you can never have too much depth in the rough sport that is NHL hockey.

Dermott was taken with the 34th overall pick by the Toronto Maple Leafs in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft and would play the first several years of his NHL career in a Maple Leafs sweater before he was traded to the Vancouver Canucks for a third-round pick in the 2022 NHL Entry Draft.
After two injury-shortened years in a Canucks sweater, Dermott was on the move again, this time signing a UFA contract with the Arizona Coyotes.
Dermott has also played in his NHL career for the Edmonton Oilers and Minnesota Wild.
He has 62 points (16 G, 46 A) in 348 career NHL games.
