Chicago Blackhawks acquire Joshua Roy from the Montreal Canadiens: A possible compensation for Carey Price

The Chicago Blackhawks' general manager Kyle Davidson and the Montreal Canadiens could combine for a blockbuster trade that includes Kent Hughes sending Carey Price, with prospect Joshua Roy attached.
There remains the chance that the Montreal Canadiens' Carey Price is traded soon.
For the Blackhawks, the opportunity to land Carey Price means not only will they land a contract of a legend in the deal (basically, a cap dump), but they will receive compensation for their cap space.
That could include General Manager Kent Hughes sending forward Joshua Roy attached with Price on the way back.

All that would cost the Blackhawks is one year and $10.5 million in cap space.
NHL teams in the past have utilized contracts like Shea Weber's and Ryan Ellis' deals to hit the cap floor. But for the Blackhawks, this is about compensation and moving the team forward.

However, the majority of the year was spent in the AHL with the Laval Rocket, playing 47 games and scoring 20 goals and 35 points.
For the Blackhawks, this could be another meaningful prospect to add to the pipeline as a future NHL-ready forward.
