Blackhawks place 25-year old on injury reserve

This year's struggles aren't doing Kurashev any favors, especially with the trade deadline approaching,the Blackhawks are set to part ways with him.

A big part of his drop-off comes from less powerplay time.

Last season, he logged 221 minutes and notched 19 powerplay points. This year, he's down to just 20 minutes and has only one point with the man advantage.

The Blackhawks have a tough call to make this summer with the 25-year-old.

He's got talent but hasn't been consistent, and this injury makes it nearly impossible to trade him before the deadline.

On the flip side, Louis Crevier, the Blackhawks Best Late Picks in The 2020 NHL Draft, is back with the Blackhawks after playing 23 games this season.

The 23-year-old defenseman has three goals, one assist, 47 hits, and 34 blocked shots.

He's averaging nearly 18 minutes per game, but the team hasn't set him up for success.

They start him in the defensive zone for 68.9% of his shifts, which is a challenge for a young player. Still, he's earned himself another chance to show what he can do in Chicago.
