The Chicago Blackhawks have signed the son of former NHL'er Brian Rolston to a 3-year deal.

Throughout three seasons of the contract, Rolston receives a minor league salary of $80K. Chicago will owe him a qualifying offer of $874,125, or 105% of his base salary in the last year of his contract, as a restricted free agent, upon termination. If he participates in at least 10 games in the NHL each season of his contract, he will be qualified for arbitration.
Ryder Rolston, a 21-year-old forward prospect, has been signed by the Chicago Blackhawks to a three-year, entry-level deal, the organization announced Monday afternoon at 3:52 p.m. According to the organization, Rolston's first NHL deal includes a $895,000 cap charge.
After three seasons of collegiate hockey, Rolston—the son of former NHL player Brian Rolston—leaves the University of Notre Dame. With 10 goals and 27 points in 38 games during his second season in 2021–2022, he made significant progress there.
Rolston's college year unfortunately came to an end in late January as a result of an accident. He played in 27 games, scoring 20 points overall.
