Mark your calendar and set your alarm the San Jose Sharks are going to make some NHL history Tuesday morning.

The San Jose Sharks will welcome back a former player in forward Mike Grier and will make the historic announcement that Grier will become the first NHL General Manager of colored decent. Sportsnet can confirm. It is believed he will be the first Black man in NHL history to hold the position.
The 47 year old played 14 seasons in the NHL beginning in 1996 and he retired from playing in 2011. The hiring of Grier is hopefully a fresh start for the San Jose Sharks who have struggled in recent years hopefully he can return this team to the respected franchise it was during the Thornton, Marleau era.
