Chicago Blackhawks Rookie Completes a Milestone Last Done By Artemi Panarin
California native Cole Guttman is quickly making a name for himself in Chicago, as well as the NHL. He now has two back-to-back goals in his first 4 NHL games, getting his second against Vegas to help the Hawks defeat the Golden Knights, 3-2.
The last time that happened was in 2015, when two former Blackhawks, Dennis Rasmussen and Artemi Panarin, both scored in their first 4 career games.
Eight years later, Panarin is still playing some of his best hockey, although it's unfortunately for the Rangers. Rasmussen, 32, currently plays for HC Davos of the National League.
Aside from scoring goals, the 23 year old also shows very promising signs in the face-off circle, and having a great hockey sense. Coach Richardson was quoted in the Athletic as saying, «Smart hockey player. We saw that in training camp and we know he had a great collegiate career. That's why they signed him. But you never know until a guy gets to the NHL. It's a big step coming from junior and college to pro hockey, but the
biggest step is the final one, and that's in every league — to play at the top elite. He's done a great job.»
Hopefully this American born player can pick up a few more tips from that other pretty great American born player the Hawks have, while there's still time.
