The Buffalo Sabres and their number-one center Tage Thompson agreed to terms on a contract extension on Tuesday evening.

Thompson's contract will begin in 2023-24 when his current contract expires. The forward will earn $50-million dollars over the next seven-years beginning next year.
In 2022 Thompson suited up for games with the Sabres, the native of Glendale, Arizona., scored 38 goals and 30 assists for 68 points in his second season with the Sabres. Thompson has totalled 223 games over his six-year career, split between the Blues and Sabres, scoring 56 goals and 47 assists for 103 points.
Certainly the Sabres have something rare in Thompson. A massive center, who can play in all situations, his shot and playmaking abilities create a constant threat in the offensive zone. Defensively Thompson's long-reach and big frame allow him to close on defenders quickly, before breaking up plays, driving opponents crazy.
Thompson will look to be a huge part of the Sabres offense going forward.
