Carter Hart's headlined return to the Vegas Golden Knights is underway, as sources say he is likely to make his first NHL start in nearly two years against the Chicago Blackhawks on Tuesday night.

Hart played his first professional game in nearly two years on Sunday with the AHL's Henderson Silver Knights, posting a solid outing in a 5-2 win over the Calgary Wranglers.
He was cleared and reinstated to NHL eligibility earlier this month.
"Per sources, I'm told G Carter Hart is likely to make his debut start and return to NHL action with GoldenKnights this coming Tuesday night."

Hart logged two starts during his conditioning stint, going 1-1, then received the recall from Henderson on November 29.
The Knights will be relying on Hart thanks to ongoing issues in net. Veteran Adin Hill remains sidelined with injury, and the tandem of Akira Schmid and Carl Lindbom has struggled to deliver consistent results.

Vegas banking on Hart bounce-back vs. Blackhawks Tuesday

At 27 years old, Hart returns with 227 career NHL games under his belt and a 2.94 goals-against average with a .906 save percentage.
The long layoff leaves unanswered questions about how sharp Hart will be out of the gate; the Blackhawks could ultimately open the floodgates on him and spoil his season debut.
Still, if he can regain form quickly, he could stabilize a shaky crease and help the Knights regain momentum.
