As goalie week continues, the Chicago Blackhawks are celebrating Spencer Knight, their newest starting goalie received in trade from the Florida Panthers, who has graced the United Center for a cup of coffee in 2025.
The Chicago Blackhawks would trade Seth Jones and a draft pick in return for goalie Spencer Knight, with a draft pick attached from the Florida Panthers.
Knight has become the new ascendant starting goalie, stealing the spotlight from Arvid Soderblom and the absent Laurent Brossoit.
As goalie week progresses, the team has honored Spencer Knight, the #1 in Chicago, with a post celebrating his arrival this year.
Spencer Knight's Debut Against the Los Angeles Kings
Knight would make his debut for the Blackhawks on March 3rd, 2025, against the Los Angeles Kings.
He'd lead the team in a 5-1 victory over the Western Conference contenders, with a convincing 41-save night.

It's expected that he'll be next in line for the Blackhawks to sign to a deal, and with only $18.6 million in cap space, you have to wonder what his next payday will be.
The goalie ended the year with 38 games played, 17 wins, 2 shutouts, a 2.72 GAA, and a .902 SV%.
He can do better as the team continues to improve, as prospects claim roster spots from veteran placeholders who have left or were traded.
Knight is in the last year of his $4.5M deal, which will take him to restricted free agent status if the team doesn't get a deal done soon.
