Winnipeg Jets' Jonathan Toews' health uncertainty addressed in latest on-ice video

Former Blackhawks captain Jonathan Toews is officially a member of the Winnipeg Jets, and was recently seen for the first time on the ice in his new gear.
The Jonathan Toews era with the Chicago Blackhawks ended in 2023 after he was informed by the team that he would not be re-signed.
He was able to go out to a standing ovation at the United Center in what was thought to potentially be his final NHL game in April of 2023, and he's not played since thanks to complications from long COVID along with a diagnosis of chronic immune response syndrome.
But Toews is back in the NHL after announcing his intention months ago to try and make a comeback and signed a 1-year contract with his hometown Winnipeg Jets.
He was recently seen in full Jets gear on the ice, and his health looks amazing.
Despite being away for years and having many reported health battles, he looks very comfortable.
Jonathan Toews said signing with the Jets felt right to him
After officially signing with the Jets in July, Toews said that he couldn't envision himself wearing another sweater.
"It really got to a point where I couldn't see myself wearing any other jersey. It wasn't something where you write down the pros and cons on a piece of paper. To me, it wasn't rational at all: It was more of an intuitive thing where it just felt right."

Toews and fellow ex-Blackhawk Patrick Kane are the only players from Chicago's 3 Stanley Cup wins that are still active in the NHL.
To the horror of Chicago fans everywhere, Kane now wears the sweater of the former divisional foe Detroit Red Wings and chose to re-sign with them once again this summer instead of returning to Chicago to play with 2023 1st overall pick Connor Bedard.
