Winnipeg Jets fans can breathe a sigh of relief after an official injury update on former Chicago Blackhawks captain Jonathan Toews confirmed his return.

For full-time NHL veterans, preseasons bring useless injury risk before the start of the real season.
But for a guy like Jonathan Toews, who hadn't taken part in an NHL game for two years, exhibition games are extremely beneficial.
Unfortunately, the former Chicago Blackhawks captain got injured, limiting his preseason opportunities to two games.
Today, an update regarding the 37-year-old veteran emerged from the Winnipeg Jets' practice.

Injury Update on Jonathan Toews Ahead of Winnipeg Jets Debut

Toews, who signed a one-year contract with the Jets in the offseason, had to leave last Tuesday's game due to an injury.
If you missed it, here's how it happened:
Concerns about his return emerged after the injury, but a new report live from the Jets' practice shed away the doubts and worries about his health.
Indeed, Toews was a full participant in today's practice.
Mike McIntyre shared a picture on X, adding that Dylan DeMelo, who had to retreat to the locker room in the last game after a stick hit to the throat, was there, but not Cole Perfetti, who's dealing with his own lower-body injury.
This is massive news for the Jets, who are hoping Toews will be able to return to his former speed to help the team have another great season this year.
Without him, depth at the center position would take a hit.
Nothing indicates that he won't be ready for the Jets' first game of the regular calendar, set to go down Thursday against the Dallas Stars.
An official confirmation is still awaited, but as of now, it's safe to think that the Winnipeg Jets will be able to count on him for the game.
Stay tuned for the latest updates on his status as we get closer to the start of the season.
