Colin Delia is a former Blackhawks goalie who spent the majority of his 2024-25 season in the AHL and will now be attempting to revive his career in the SHL with the Brynas IF.

Colin Delia is a former Chicago Blackhawks goalie who joined the team in 2017 after he signed his ELC. Before he joined the organization, he had finished his collegiate career at Merrimack College with a 2124-10 record, 2.48 GAA, and a .912 save percentage.
Delia spent his entire 2024-25 season in the AHL with the Bakersfield Condors, the Edmonton Oilers' AHL affiliate.
While his record wasn't great, it wasn't terrible either as he posted a 12-11-3, 2.76 GAA, and a .906 save percentage. Practically better than Stuart Skinner at the NHL level.
Despite this, he's been pushed out of the backup spot in Edmonton and has had to look elsewhere for work to revive his NHL career.
It's been reported that he'll be joining the SHL's Brynas IF for the 2025-26 season. No word on the expected contract value for the 31-year-old goalie.
Delia's career with the Blackhawks was short, playing 32 games in total for the original-six franchise, with a 9-12-5 record, 3.68 GAA, and a .904 save percentage.
He'd later leave the team as a free agent, signing with the Vancouver Canucks during the 2022 NHL season.
For the 2024-25 NHL season, Delia would earn the league-minimum deal with the Oilers, at $775K.
The year prior, he was a depth option in the Winnipeg Jets system and was underutilized due to the fact that they had a reliable starter in Connor Hellebuyck. The payday was no different, and he experienced no movement up the depth charts.
Now, he'll be taking his talents overseas in the hopes that he might get another chance to play in the NHL again, as dreams don't die for some players.
Delia will be joining former NHL goalie prospect Erik Kallgren in the Brynas IF lineup.
