Details of a Carey Price trade leak from close source that reveals his destination

NHL Insider Marco D'Amico believes that Montreal Canadiens goalie Carey Price is set to be traded to one of three teams in the league, and the Chicago Blackhawks are in the mix.
Carey Price hasn't suited up in the NHL due to injuries since 2021-22, when he only suited up for 5 games.
The Canadiens are looking to unload his costly $10.5 million AAV deal in its final year.
With his deal up for grabs, NHL teams who can take this kind of burden are in it for one thing only: assets.
The Chicago Blackhawks, who have $18.62 million, could shoulder that easily. This move is set to be announced this week, according to NHL Insider Marco D'Amico.

Even more intriguing is that they're using the Price trade as a funnel into another trade with NHL teams.
Marco D'Amico believes the Price trade is upon us; it's just a matter of confirmation:
"Carey Price's contract should be traded this upcoming week, with sources suggesting San Jose, Chicago, or Pittsburgh as destinations.
The Canadiens are trading Price's contract to open themselves to the possibility of another trade.

With the Carey Price contract settled, are the Blackhawks involved with the Canadiens in other deals?
According to TVA Sports host Jean-Charles Lajoie, the trade will take place on September first.
"The costly September 1st will see C. Price's contract move to other skies. K. Hughes is reportedly inclined to trade picks, notably first-rounders, to add a natural center to his roster. A complex but effective deal, as the GM likes, is taking shape. The Western Conference is one to watch... And all this is very exciting! 25-26 will be a fascinating season!!"
The expected return on a Carey Price deal should be rich in assets, whether with draft picks or prospects. The Blackhawks haven't weaponized their cap space like this before, and it could be a great way of finishing out the rebuild strong.
