Chicago Blackhawks forward Connor Bedard, taken with the 1st overall pick in the 2023 NHL Entry Draft, gave the latest update on his contract negotiations with the team.

The Chicago Blackhawks are entering a critical year in their history, as not only will the upcoming season be their 100th year in the NHL but also the 3rd year in the career of former 1st overall pick Connor Bedard.
Since Bedard was taken in the 2023 NHL Entry Draft, the Blackhawks have not made the playoffs and have remained at or near the bottom of the Western Conference standings.
Even with the addition of Andrei Burakovsky into the lineup, the Blackhawks are not expected to seriously challenge for a playoff spot this year.
Connor Bedard, taken with the 1st overall pick in the 2023 NHL Entry Draft, is going into the last year of his contract and has recently stated that negotiations are going well.
It's nothing crazy. We're both comfortable with where we're at. They know I want to be there; I know they want me. So, it's really not on my mind that much, and I just think when it happens, it'll happen.

Bedard hasn't made any secret that he's not a fan of the constant losing he has experienced so far as a pro, but the Blackhawks are hoping that they could be turning the corner soon.

The Blackhawks enter the year with a new goalie tandem

The Blackhawks are going to be entering the upcoming year with a new goalie tandem of Spencer Knight and Arvid Soderblom.
They traded away Petr Mrazek to the former divisional foe Detroit Red Wings earlier this year in March, while also acquiring Knight from the Panthers.
The Blackhawks also re-signed Soderblom, who was an RFA.
