The Detroit Red Wings forward Patrick Kane spoke out about the return of his former teammate Jonathan Toews to the Winnipeg Jets after years away from the game.

The Chicago Blackhawks franchise marked hockey fans and the NHL in the 2010s by winning three Stanley Cups.
Considered one of the last true dynasties in the NHL, although the Florida Panthers appear on the verge of making it, the Blackhawks, led by Patrick Kane and Jonathan Toews, were simply too strong for the rest of the league.
Both players left the Hawks a few years ago, but for the first time since, they will be on the ice together for an NHL game.
Indeed, the Red Wings and the Winnipeg Jets, Kane and Toews' new teams, will meet for a game on December 31st.

Patrick Kane Opened Up On Jonathan Toews' Return To The NHL After A Tough Journey

Toews left the NHL after the 2022-23 season due to health issues. He stepped away from the league to pursue different healing techniques, which fortunately worked out in the end, allowing him to dream of a return to the NHL.
In an interview on ESPN, Kane told Greg Wyshynski that he's happy for Toews, especially after what he went through. He added that he's excited to see him in action and how great his story is for the league and his family.
In his own words:
I think it's awesome. Obviously with what he's been through, to be able to put himself in a position to come back and be feeling good, I think that's the most important thing. It could be really a great story for the NHL and for the franchise and for him and his family. So I'm excited about watching him.

Fans are eager to see how Toews will look on the ice during a game. In 1,067 career games in the NHL, the former Hawks captain scored 883 points, including 372 goals.
