Pittsburgh Penguins suggested to be making strong push for Chicago Blackhawks 23-year old forward

The Chicago Blackhawks have a lot of depth in their prospect pool, especially after adding eight players at the 2025 NHL Draft.

With five picks in the first two rounds of the 2026 Draft, the team's depth is truly impressive. General Manager Kyle Davidson appears poised to complete trades to add some leadership and experience to his lineup.

To do so, calling up his Pittsburgh Penguins counterpart Kyle Dubas would be a great idea.

In his report posted on The Hockey News, Michael DeRosa stated that the Penguins could be interested in shipping a veteran to get the young Reichel from Chicago. In Pittsburgh, many assets could interest the Hawks, such as Bryan Rust, Rickard Rakell, and Erik Karlsson.

Since the offseason started, Reichel has been involved in trade rumors. He had a tough 2024-25 season, where he scored only 22 points in 70 games. However, he has a high ceiling that could interest an organization such as the Penguins.

The Fourth Period revealed:

Reichel is likely to thrive under the right conditions, meaning that the Hawks could end up regretting trading him.

Under Sidney Crosby, he could develop into the star he appeared poised to become in his Draft year.

In his career, Reichel has tallied 54 points, including 20 goals, in 169 games. It'll be interesting to see if he'll end up being traded by the Hawks, and if he'll be able to find the rhythm to produce consistently at the NHL level.
