NHL Insider David Pagnotta of the Fourth Period's latest update on the Blackhawks situation with Lukas Reichel, as we now know what Kyle Davidson is asking for the forward.

Forward Lukas Reichel was drafted 17th overall in the 2020 NHL Draft, and his time in Chicago may be coming to an end. The forward's name was buzzing in recent trade rumors, with one NHL insider believing he'd suit up for another team by next week, when rosters are finalized.
On Wednesday, NHL Insider David Pagnotta of the Fourth Period would report on what General Manager Kyle Davidson and the Blackhawks could ask for the former 1st-rounder.
"The Chicago Blackhawks have been actively exploring the trade market in an attempt to move forward Lukas Reichel.

Blackhawks GM Kyle Davidson has been engaged in talks with multiple teams about Reichel, who is open to a change of scenery as his opportunities in Chicago have seemed to be dwindling." Pagnotta said.

He added, "The Vancouver Canucks, Edmonton Oilers and San Jose Sharks are among the teams believed to have interest in Reichel, who was drafted 17th overall by Chicago in the 2020 NHL Draft."

The Chicago Blackhawks Have Been Shopping Lukas Reichel

The Blackhawks have been shopping Reichel on the market lately, with the team attempting to create more cap space and giving the 17th overall pick a fresh start.
NHL Insider Frank Seravalli thinks that the Blackhawks will ask for a mid-round pick for Lukas Reichel, whose value has tumbled in the last two seasons. Even as an RFA (restricted free agent), the team wouldn't be able to maximize his return after his performance in 2024-25. In 70 games, he played on the fourth line the majority of the year, scoring 22 points (8-14).
The Blackhawks have given the Nuremberg, Germany-born forward ample chances in the lineup to show them what he can do. But the 23-year-old forward, who has appeared in 169 NHL games, has scored 54 points (20-34), with a -61.
The Vancouver Canucks, Edmonton Oilers, and San Jose Sharks are some of the teams that could be interested in the 1st-round pick.
