According to NHL insider David Pagnotta of The Fourth Period, general manager Kyle Davidson is not done and is expected to be completing another trade for the Chicago Blackhawks before the offseason ends.

The Blackhawks are in a unique position heading into the 2025-26 NHL season, with very few additions, one being Stanley Cup Champion Andre Burakovsky.
On the other end of things, free agency has not treated the Blackhawks very well, general manager Kyle Davidson had the chance to land top talents such as Mitch Marner or Nikolaj Ehlers but failed to do so.
Louis Crevier, Anton Frondell and Dominic Tonianato are other signings made, but those players were already within the organization.
Even acquiring former Blackhawks veteran forward Sam Lafferty from the Buffalo Sabres will not be enough, and according to NHL insider David Pagnotta it will not be their last move made.
"David Pagnotta: Chicago is looking to add; Oilers are...kind of looking around; a lot of teams are looking; buyer's market, things slow down; the urgency just isn't there for teams to get rid of guys - Melnick in the Afternoon (7/21)"
With over $21 million in cap space still available, the Blackhawks must be strategic in their next trade in the way that their upcoming talent is not being blocked from making the upcoming seasons roster.

Blackhawks look to acquire Evan Rodrigues from the Florida Panthers

Insider Pagnotta may have revealed the trade underway with the Florida Panthers, and it involves two-time Stanley Cup champion Evan Rodrigues.
An NHL veteran of 547 games with 239 points tallied under his belt, he could provide leadership and goal-scoring support for the current youth movement in Chicago.
The Blackhawks are currently running against the clock with training camp kicking off in nearly one month.
