Fans can relax, as the Chicago Blackhawks and General Manager Kyle Davidson inked defenseman Wyatt Kaiser to a new contract, keeping him in the United Center for the next two years.

The Chicago Blackhawks have shown faith in defenseman Wyatt Kaiser.
After the signing of Matt Grzelcyk to a professional tryout, we were unsure of what would happen to prospect Wyatt Kaiser.
But General Manager Kyle Davidson has done his best work this postseason, signing Kaiser to a two-year contract with a cap hit of $1.7 million AAV (average annual value).
The deal will keep Kaiser in the Blackhawks crest through the 2026-27 season, as he will have a chance to stick around through the next two years of the rebuild.
Last season, the prospect split time between the Blackhawks and IceHogs, playing a total of 57 games in the NHL, scoring 4-4-8 points, and being utilized in the bottom pairing, with TJ Brodie being a regular partner.

Wyatt Kaiser's Future in Chicago Now Confirmed With 2-year Extension

The defenseman has a bright future in Chicago, as he's proven to have offensive upside, scoring a career-high 8 points in 2024-25.
While he's not afraid to sacrifice his body, blocking 93 hits, he was sixth on the team in hits with 54.
Kaiser hit a milestone in his NHL career when he scored his first career goal on January 5th, against the New York Rangers.
His totals with the Rockford IceHogs were 17 games played and 3 assists.
The young defenseman was selected 81st overall in the third round of the 2020 NHL Draft and has proven himself capable of handling a role with the Blackhawks.
Will he grow into a top-pairing defenseman?
