Chicago Blackhawks acquire Artemi Panarin in an intriguing trade pitch with the New York Rangers

A decade ago, the Chicago Blackhawks had the next young superstar on their hands with Artemi Panarin, who won the Calder Trophy as the best rookie in the NHL.

But just 2 years into his time with the Blackhawks, he was traded to the Columbus Blue Jackets for former Stanley Cup winner Brandon Saad in what most Blackhawks fans consider the worst trade in recent team history.

Panarin is now 6 full years into his 7-year contract with the New York Rangers, and the Rangers could choose to trade him if they aren't in a playoff position as they weren't last year.

Per Heavy Sports, an intriguing trade proposal sees the Blackhawks bring back Panarin while also acquiring Taylor Radish for a pair of draft picks and prospect defenseman Ethan Del Mastro.

The Blackhawks surely regret trading Panarin before he truly hit his prime, and would likely welcome the chance to bring him back into the fold.

The Blackhawks want to acquire more talent to surround former 1st overall Draft selection Connor Bedard, as he's been the face of the franchise since the summer of 2023.

Not only would Bedard thrive with a talented player like Panarin on his wing, but it could also entice other notable players to consider signing with the Blackhawks.
