The 2025 Chicago Blackhawks third overall pick Anton Frondell made a heartbreaking statement about a prior injury in a recent interview.

In an interview from the Hawks' development camp, Frondell candidly opened up about the adversity he faced due to an injury that forced him to miss six months of action.
He made a heartbreaking statement, in which he stated that he didn't believe in himself coming out of his recovery, which affected his performances last year:
"It was probably in the beginning when I felt like I was already off to a pretty slow start. I didn't play my own game, if that's the right way to say it. It felt like I didn't believe in myself. I was a little afraid to make mistakes."

After a stint in junior, where he scored seven points in ten games, he returned to his team and scored a goal in his first period back. He ended the season with 25 points, including 11 goals, in 29 games.
"I felt like the more games I played, as more weeks went by, I came back to the play I was before. And I felt like the whole second part of the year was pretty high-level, like balanced games. I played well for a long time."
He may have stopped believing in himself, but the way he bounced back shows how great of an athlete he'll become.
