Chicago Blackhawks analyst Michael Augello is calling new Chicago forward Dominic Toninato a "standout" player after he helped them beat the divisional foe Blues on Saturday night.

There are a handful of new players with the Chicago Blackhawks this year as signed by GM Kyle Davidson, including former Winnipeg Jets forward Dominic Toninato.
Toninato had a hand in Chicago's 4-2 comeback win on Saturday against the divisional foe St. Louis Blues in which they initially trailed 2-0 but roared back with 4 goals in the 3rd period.
Per commentary from Blackhawks analyst Michael Auguello, Toninato was a "standout player" in Chicago's 4-2 win.
At the 10:58 mark of the third period, Toninato scored the Blackhawks' first goal of the game to cut St. Louis' lead to 2-1. This goal proved to be important, as it was the start of the Blackhawks' third period comeback.

Toninato did not stop there, either, as he then recorded the primary assist on Gavin Hayes game-tying goal at the 11:25 mark of the third period. Toninato showed off his playmaking skill, too, as he beautifully set up Hayes.

Toninato was signed to a 2 year contract by the Blackhawks in July.

Dominic Toninato mostly played in the American Hockey League last year

Doninato was taken with the 126th overall pick by the Toronto Maple Leafs in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft while playing for the Fargo Force of the USHL, and would then play 3 years at the University of Minnesota-Duluth.
He never played for the Maple Leafs and was instead given a 2 year entry level contract by the Colorado Avalanche in 2017. In July of 2019, he was traded to the Florida Panthers for Jacob MacDonald.
He had been with the Jets since October of 2020.
Toninato has 189 total games of NHL experience with the Avalanche, Panthers and Jets and has scored 35 points (13G, 22A).
