Blackhawks prospect's recent play with IceHogs puts him on the fast track for NHL call-up

Lardis came into this pro season after a record-breaking season with the OHL's Brantford Bulldogs, and the scoring touch has carried over nicely at the next level.

He kicked off October by piling up 12 points in his first eight games and finishing that month as the AHL's Rookie of the Month.

He has kept that momentum rolling through November and into December. In a recent win over the Milwaukee Admirals, he tallied a three-point night and then followed that with a two-goal, game-winning performance.

As of the Admirals game, he stood at 22 points in 20 AHL games.

Fans have to love this kind of surge. At 20 years old, 5'11" and around 185 pounds per available data, Lardis doesn't stand out with size-but he does with finishing.

He's showing he can get the puck to the net, find space, and bury chances even against older, stronger AHL defenders.

Lardis carries a Patrick Kane-like finesse to his game.

His track record from junior through the pros demands a look. With key forwards on the Blackhawks injured or underperforming, Chicago could soon need a spark. Lardis' scoring and recent consistency make a strong case for him being the next call-up.

It's not a sure thing yet-he still needs to show he can handle sustained physical play and two-way responsibilities. But at this rate, he's forcing the organization's hand.
