The Chicago Blackhawks, while it's early in the season, are currently in position and are fighting for a playoff spot, and Thanksgiving is around the corner.
Beecher, 24 years old, fits the age range of the Hawks very well and supports the youth movement. It's known that he has a strong upside and could be developed into a solid bottom-six forward.
The Blackhawks must act fast, though, as the forward will clear waivers and be assigned to the AHL at 2:00 p.m Tuesday.
Beecher has one goal in six games so far this season with Boston and had 11 points with three goals and eight assists in 78 games last year, so there's definitely something there.
He only signed a one-year, $900,000 deal with the Bruins last offseason, so his contract will end, and you'll have to re-sign him after this season if you pick him up.
Either way, even if the Blackhawks don't pick him up off of waivers, it'd be surprising if he clears all the way through. The Bruins are likely losing Beecher.
Now, if the Blackhawks scoop up Beecher, he'd arguably be an upgrade over what they have now in Landon Slaggert.
Slaggert, 23 years old, only has one goal in seven games this season, and in general, just hasn't played his best hockey.
Coming into this season, he had six points in 33 games with Chicago after shining down in the AHL with the Rockford IceHogs.
Slaggert has been in and out of the lineup on a nightly basis and just can't seem to find himself an established role with the team.
So, instead of doing a revolving door, why not get Beecher and see if you can't mold him into something that could help out the bottom six more?
