Chicago needed a spark, and Spencer Knight delivered a 21-save shutout as the Chicago Blackhawks beat the New York Rangers 3-0 at United Center Wednesday, with Connor Bedard leading the way in offense and confidence.

The Blackhawks (13-11-6) came into this one after two ugly losses, getting outscored 13-1 in back-to-back games on the West Coast, and they responded in style Wednesday. Knight was sharp from the opening faceoff, shutting down the Rangers' best looks and earning his second shutout of the season and the seventh of his NHL career.
Chicago's first goal changed the game tone late in the second period when defenseman Louis Crevier's flipped a short-handed backhander past Igor Shesterkin to make it 1-0. Crevier's effort was high-tempo and opportunistic, jumping into the play off the turnover and forcing a save that he buried.
Connor Bedard made it 2-0 with a lightning-quick snapshot off a cross-ice feed from Andre Burakovsky later in the second.
The 20-year-old now has 19 goals for the season, giving him 42 points and another night where he controlled the pace for Chicago. It was his 17th multi-point home game this year, and fans felt the energy shift once he scored.

Bedard and Knight pace Blackhawks' performance

Tyler Bertuzzi finished it off in the third with a greasy rebound goal, bonking home the loose puck off a save by Shesterkin to seal the 3-0 final. Chicago's depth showed in that sequence, with secondary players contributing critical moments without overpowering the narrative.
For the Rangers (15-13-4), the loss was a third straight defeat, and their once-reliable power play came up empty again, going 0-for-3. New York managed only one shot on goal across those opportunities, reflecting a stagnant attack that couldn't generate meaningful pressure.
Knight's performance grounded Chicago's rebound, and this felt like a reset game for a team that had lost momentum. The shutout was a reminder Chicago can outwork opponents and control games through net-minding and opportunistic scoring.
